Kampala, Uganda 13th January 2016 –The Uganda National Examinations Board released the 2015 Primary leaving Exams. The Results were released by the Hon. Minister. Madam Jessica Alupo.

UNEB handed the results over to her ahead of schedule as a result of embracing innovations in Technology.

Because of this technology candidates were registered electronically and some of the processes were also electronically done. This Examination was conducted smoothly and free from leakage.
A total of 621,401 candidates from 12,673 centre(schools) registered for PLE in 2015. Of this number, 478,585 (77%) were Universal Primary Education (UPE) beneficiaries. Only 142,816 (23%) of the candidates were non-UPE.
English and Social studies with Religious Education were performed best this year followed by Intergrated Science and Mathematics in that order. Girls performed better than Boys in English.

Boys performed better in the rest of the subjects. Generally boys performed better than Girls.
The Board deployed 9110 Scouts to oversee the conduct of PLE at all examination sitting centres in the whole country. 909 candidates’ results have been withheld due to suspected involvement in various forms of malpractice. External assistance was the most common form of malpractice. Collusion and impersonation were other forms.
