The 3rd Uganda-Kenya Coast Tourism Conference has been launched this Wednesday 7th August 2024 at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala and is scheduled to take place from November 20th – 21st 2024 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala Uganda and thereafter will include excursions in both Uganda and Kenya. It will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from both countries under the theme of “Promoting job creation, inclusiveness, and sustainability.”
The event aims to celebrate and promote the unique beauty and tourism potential of Uganda and Kenya, fostering collaboration and sustainable growth in the region.
Uganda and Kenya, both prominent tourism destinations in East Africa, offer a wide range of attractions drawing visitors from around the world. Uganda boasts alluring mountain gorillas, chimpanzees, rich nightlife, and a diverse cultural heritage, providing an unmatched experience for nature and adventure enthusiasts. Similarly, Kenya offers stunning beaches, rich marine tourism, and diverse wildlife, making it a premier destination for travellers seeking relaxation and adventure.
The conference will prioritize promoting job creation within the tourism sector. By fostering partnerships and encouraging investment in tourism infrastructure, both Uganda and Kenya aim to create numerous employment opportunities, particularly for youth and women, contributing to broader regional development goals, economic empowerment, and poverty alleviation.
Sustainability will be a key theme throughout the conference. With global tourism increasingly emphasizing eco-friendly practices, Uganda and Kenya are committed to developing and promoting sustainable tourism initiatives.
