Former United States of America President, Barack Obama travelled to Kenya for a family visit and inauguration of the sauti kuu foundation a project.
Obama’s visit comes after a decade since 2006 when he last visited his ancestral land while still senator for Illinois State in the US before presidency.
Upon arrival, yesterday Sunday 15th July, Mr Obama was driven straight to State House, Nairobi where he held a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and other senior government officials.
At the meeting, President Kenyatta thanked Mr Obama for setting up his charitable foundation, which seeks to empower youth to become agents of change.
Excitement later gripped Kogelo village residents in Siaya county amidst tight security where his fore fathers are said to live as dwellers anticipated to have a glance of the celebrated former US president where he had breakfast meeting with Family.
Mr Obama is expected to inaugurate the Sauti Kuu Foundation’s project which comprises a sports facility and vocational training centre currently run by his sister, Dr Auma Obama.
