The codeshare partnership between flydubai and emirates airlines which came into effect towards the end of October 2017 has started bearing fruits as both airlines carried close to 3.29 million passengers between January and December 2018 on flights across 84 destinations.
Among these destinations included popular tourism and adventure places comprising Bucharest, Kathmandu, and Zanzibar among many more.
Based on the terms in the codeshare arrangement, Customers using Emirates airlines have access to 67 additional destinations on the flydubai flights routes. This arrangement has seen travelers using the two airlines enjoy amazing offers such as greater global connectivity through more destination choices, flexibility with more flight options upon scheduling for trips, an integrated loyalty programme and the convenience that comes with traveling on one single ticket and seamless point to point baggage handling.
Flydubai customers using Emirates airlines have upto 115 additional destinations they now travel to on the Emirates Airlines routes.
Commenting about this achievement, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai said; “The partnership between Emirates and flydubai has really taken off and we are very pleased with what has been achieved. It has not only delivered tangible benefits to our collective customers, but also to both airlines in terms of the synergies that come with working closely together, for example reducing route overlaps and the realignment of schedules to common destinations,”
