Today, we bring you five tips on how to successfully travel to India, explore and take on a number of Adventures.
India has Sunny beaches, bustling cities, shimmering mountain peaks, and calming temples. No amount of time is ever enough to explore the multitude of places and cultures within India. One of the greatest hindrances for a person to travel is the monetary roadblocks. Youngsters especially, are seen to have the energy and enthusiasm to tour around, but do not want to take the step, fearing the amount that will be drained out of their pockets. The same can be said for families wanting a small vacation. The great news is touring through India can indeed be achieved at quite a lower budget than anticipated. Check out the following tips for your perfect soul-searching trip.
1. Booking
Nowadays, booking tickets, rooms and even transport online have become the norm. Booking online is definitely simpler, but there have been studies showing that some search algorithms show higher priced results especially as the date is nearing. Searching in the incognito mode and booking way in advance are the next best approaches, if booking in person or through call is a tiresome job. There are ample price comparison sites like Trivago, which can be used to compare the rates of your accommodation. Apps like IRCTC Connect, Redbus, Ola cabs, Cleartrip etc. can be used to book your modes of travel on the go. Use them to avoid waiting in queues and getting stranded in unknown places.
2. Exploring
Contacts are the key to the best travel experience. Meet up with an old friend or extended family in the city, as locals always know the prime sites to be visited and the best places to have fun. If you’re a total stranger to the place, ask the hotel staff. Sometimes, lesser known attractions are found to be cheaper and worth visiting like Kasol in Himachal Pradesh, Bundi in Rajasthan, Dhanushkodi in Tamil Nadu etc. Booking a one-day tour of cities like Delhi and Mumbai, can also help you cover most of the important sites within a limited period, thus allowing you to save time and money. The Taj Mahal in Agra, Red Fort in Delhi, Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Ajanta caves in Aurangabad, Charminar in Hyderabad and the multitude of temples can by itself make a satisfying trip.
3. En route
Always plan your route of travel in advance so that all the sights are covered systematically. It is always cheaper to take the metro or use the public transport when traveling through a city rather than taking a private cab.
Most cities always have a good network of public transport interconnecting the attractions of their cities. Metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai also allow you to buy a single ticket, which can be used to travel in specific buses and trains which traverse throughout the city for a whole day. This will allow you to pass on to your next stage of tour faster. While planning for trekking and biking one should always take the climatic conditions of the place into account.
4. Dining
The best reflection of the cuisine of a place is found not in the branded restaurants, but in the cheaper road side stalls and smaller restaurants. The food in these local eateries will be varied and satisfying. Foodies can attain bliss with the mouthwatering varieties of local food like bhel puri, Rajasthani thali, momos, Kashmiri dum aalu in the north to the uttapams, idlis, chettinads, Hyderabadi biriyani down south. Trying the native cuisine of a place is the best way to learn their culture and make your travel experience wholesome.
5. Traveling in A Group
Traveling with company is the best, in terms of both the budget and the experience. Your expenses for the food, travel etc. all come down drastically. Travel agencies often offer discounts when bookings are done in groups, be it family or friends. You can even rent a car around the city if it’s a group of 4-5 members, thus increasing the flexibility of your schedule without burning a hole in your pocket. The accommodation charges come down, as with friends you can book rooms with two or more beds, which are cheaper than separate rooms. The biking to Leh, frozen river trek to Chaddar in Ladakh and visiting the islands of Andaman and Nicobar are guaranteed to be the best for travel with buddies.
No amount of traveling can ever make up for the amount to be seen around the country. Go experience everything from the anticipation to the adventure. Take a small step forward and start your journey of finding yourself and enjoying to your hearts’ content.
