The weekend beginning Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May 2019 will be quite busy on Uganda’s social scene with a number of events lined up for the party goers right from music events to sports events.
As always at Guide2Uganda we shall do our best to summarize for you all the events so that you can make up your pick. Here is what’s happening on the Events Calender this Weekend.
01. Friday Afro-Latin NIGHT at AER Lounge, Kololo
Join the Friday Salsa addicts of Uganda at AER lounge in Kololo this Friday May 24th starting 6pm – 7pm with free dance workshop to new learners, 7pm -8pm free dance workshop for the intermediates and 8pm-late is the open dance floor for all dancers and those who would love to watch a listen to the music.
Entrance is Shs 5,000,
02. Sunday Funday – Reggae Edition at the Five Horsemen, Nsambya
For all the Raggae fanatics, the Five horsemen will be hosting Raggae Funday every Sunday. Get to chill, dance and listen to some Raggae vibes at the Five horsemen, Nsambya as you enjoy cool shots and good tunes.
Entrance is absolutely free for all.
03. 256 Hip Hop Awards at Laftaz Comedy Lounge
The 256 Hip Hop Awards will be happening this Friday May 24th at Laftaz Comedy Lounge, Centenary Park.
Organised by The Konnected Foundation Inc and the Culture 256, the Awards are aimed at uplifting and enhancing the pride in all people of Uganda and African heritage while preserving and promoting hip-hop values and culture through recognition and rewarding of excellence in various elements.
Showtime will be 5pm
04. Contemporary Dance Night at Alliance Francaise Kampala
This Friday, catch a premier of two contemporary performances from two Ugandan dance artistes, Companies and Choreographies taking place at Alliance Francaise Kampala.
The dance sessions will begin at 7pm as entry is based on open ticket.
05. Kalabash feat. Simbad at The Mix Lounge, Centenary Park
This Friday, Simbad, the international DJ/producer legend will be performing at the Kalabash taking place at The Mix Lounge, Centenary Park. Get to experience his soulful, funky grooves. Expect never-heard-before unique music from his own studio, as well as stone-cold classics from the maestro of House.
With releases on no less than three international labels, the creator of the Ugandatronic Electro genre Faizal Da Mostrixx will be playing his unique live set, along with alien dancers from the moon caves.
And the jewel in the crown of Kalabash, the dread queen of clubland, the most in-demand DJ of Afro-house in Uganda – FYA LEBOOF will be tickling your senses until your legs start to move uncontrollably.
DJ SKAFACE will be on-hand to collect your coats and hats in the cloakroom and, if you get over-excited, he is always up for a relaxing chat about the good old days in the London rave scene.
06. Guvnor Saturday Night Fever
Here’s a proggie for you this Saturday, get to dance in the ultimate Guvnor Saturday night fever as Deejays; Dash, Bryan, VJ Baby Love, and MC Mozeso take you on a night long musical trip.
Dress code is Smart causal, entrance is Shs30, 000 and Showtime is 9pm.
07. East African Meat Carnival at the Gardens Najjera
Experience great music, meat and beer at the East African Meat Carnival this Saturday May 25th at the Gardens in Najjera.
Catch Utake music with DJ Cisse & Mujjo starting 2pm at only Shs 20k.
The Event is hosted by Chef Mark Kaheru
08. The Dance Uptown at the Kampala View, Hotel Diplomat
Lion People Sound presents then Dance Uptown Raggae session at the View, Hotel Diplomate in Muyenga this Saturday May 25th 2019.
The Evening will feature performances from; Ras Qulah and Jah Lex alongside Ras Brwon, Mighty Son, DJ KrysKross, Jah Jahcity, Y Ata Banton, Shugaz Ug, Blessed San, Sulalost Pro, Nick Bat, Dj King Shango, Silton Busulwa and Icomstan Carter.
Showtime is 5pm and entrance is Shs 5000
09. Ebonies Best of Music Tantal at Theatre La’ Bonita
The Ebonies will this Friday May 24th host the best of Tantal featuring the best Dramactors. Get to watch non-stop drama and musical action.

10. Africa Day Celebrations at Capital Kitchen this Saturday
Get to celebrate authentic African culture, foods and movies at Capital Kitchen this Saturday May 25th during Africa Day celebrations at Thobani centre building, Kampala Road.
There will be a Red Carpet experience starting 7pm followed by dinner and an African film.
Tickets go for Shs 100k
