The Kazinga Channel is a long natural water channel in Uganda that links Lake Edward, one of the main fresh-water lakes in Uganda to the west and Lake George which is to the east. Lake George is a small lake with an average depth of only 2.4 metres (7.9 ft) and is fed by streams from the Rwenzori mountains. Its outflow is through the Kazinga Channel which drains into Lake Edward. The Kazinga channel is 32-kilometre (20 mi) long.
The channel is a central feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most well-liked game reserve in Uganda covering an entire land area of 1,978 sq km.
The Kazinga channel comprises of sections such as the North Kazinga in addition to the Kasenyi plains. It’s recognized that the plains of this channel offer breathe taking viewpoints of spotting game.

The Boat cruise begins at the Mweya peninsula, found 20 km west of Kasese-Mbarara main road. all vehicle itinerant between Mbarara and Kasese go through Katunguru.
