Also, in company of current Miss World Africa, Uganda’s reigning beauty queen Quinn Abenakyo, Kadaga took Ponce to the famous Kigulu Hill climb in Buyende, a famous tourist spot.

The trio thereafter joined Member of Parliament Veronica Kadogo (Buyende district) to launch a free cancer screening for women, organized by the Indian Women Association.

At the event, Abenakyo, who is running a campaign to keep girls in school, said it is sad to see girls drop out of school, asking local leaders to enhance their efforts in keeping the youngsters in school.

She further commented that the lack of sanitary pads is one of the factors that has motivated girl-child drop outs from school and therefore much should be done as soon as possible to to be permanently avail sanitary pads to school going girls. This she said could be done especially through teaching them how to make reusable ones.

Speaker Kadaga welcomed and thanked Ponce for visiting Uganda, asking the beauty queen to spread the story of Uganda’s beauty to her other circles. The speaker further urged locals to do all it takes to keep girls in school, saying the difficult times are even crueler to uneducated women.

“We want children to remain in school…we need these young girls to have a future as well; all parents have a duty to ensure the girl child gets an education,” she remarked.
