01. Kenya Airways to return citizens from Paris, Dubai, Khartoum & Johannesburg next week – Starting next week on Monday, Kenya Airways will be offering repatriation flights to stranded nationals from Paris (France), Dubai (UAE), Khartoum (Sudan) and Johannesburg (South Africa). These repatriation flights are prior to the outcry from various nationals that were left stranded when international air travel was halted to stop the increased spread of Coronavirus across borders while various Countries enforced lockdowns from all kind of travel and business except for essential workers. 02. Emirates to fly A380 to London Heathrow and Paris, adds Dhaka and Munich to network – The highly popular Emirates A380 aircraft will begin serving travelers on flights to London Heathrow and Paris starting from 15 July. This marks the return of Emirates’ flagship aircraft on scheduled services since the pandemic forced the temporary grounding of the airline’s passenger fleet in March. 03. Brussels Airlines to increase its flight offer beginning September and October – Brussels Airlines will increase on its flight schedule come September and October, offering more destinations and extra frequencies on both leisure and corporate routes. Through this period, the airline will service 45% of its normal schedule with 27 aircraft fleet. Read more via https://bit.ly/38poA6d
04. Qatar Airways to commence daily Canada flights from Saturday – Qatar Airways will offer daily flights to Canada from Saturday, July 4th. The airline will add three flights per week to Toronto to its existing schedule. The flights are yet to be added to the Qatar Airways booking engine at the time of writing, but will operate three times per week, on days that Qatar Airways isn’t flying to Montreal. 05. How Airlines can get ready for the next Pandemic – As airlines struggle with the current pandemic, it might be helpful to use this time to prepare for the next one. 06. Qatar Airways to fly three-weekly flights to Toronto – Qatar Airways revealed that it will operate three weekly flights to Toronto Pearson International Airport from starting 4 July 2020. The flights will be operated by an Airbus A350-900 offering 36 seats in Business Class and 247 seats in Economy Class. Read more via https://bit.ly/3ghFoPg
07. Tourism to the Egyptian pyramids resumed as flights kick start – Tourism and antiquities minister Khaled al-Anany said two chartered flights arrived Wednesday morning to airports in South Sinai and the Red Sea carrying tourists from Ukraine. These provinces along the Red Sea Coast as well as Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean were allowed to reopen as they had the lowest case numbers so far. Read more via https://bit.ly/2C5yIot
08. More than 850 Ugandans repatriated within the past two weeks – According to Alfred Nnam, the spokesperson for ministry of foreign affairs, a ministry responsible for Ugandans living abroad, Uganda will by the end of this week repatriate up to 853 persons who had earlier been locked down in different countries worldwide. 09. Flydubai prospects to activate demand with exciting booking flexibility – Flydubai will restart scheduled flights from 7 July and increase network to 66 destinations over the summer. Dubai-based low-cost carrier Flydubai has unveiled a new ‘passenger partnership’ that includes offering more flexibility when it comes to travel arrangements. Read more via https://bit.ly/2BYLMMy
10. Emirates Airlines returns nearly AED 2 Billion in refunds – Emirates says it has returned almost AED 2 billion ($544 million) to customers after hundreds of flights were cancelled during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dubai’s carrier has processed nearly 650,000 refund requests in the past two months after ramping up its refund capabilities to clear a backlog of half-a-million requests.
