Last Thursday, Airtel Uganda hosted several of its Ugandan partners to an Iftar dinner at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The event which begun at 7:00pm started with prayers in a specially prepared room before the Iftar was served to the guests who included various dignitaries, businessmen and other invited guests and customers.
“Traditionally, Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan and is often done as a community, with people gathering to break their fast together,” noted Somasekhar.
Throughout the month of Ramadhan, the telco has come up with different initiatives to give back to their subscribers. The campaign has seen Airtel Uganda staff visit over twenty regions across Uganda donating to the residents foodstuffs to enable them prepare healthy Iftar meals for their families. Some of the districts that have benefitted from Ramadan donations include Kampala, Masaka, Mbale, Mbarara, Lira, Kamuli, Fortportal, Gulu, Iganga, Hoima, Jinja, Arua, Tororo, Kabale and many others
