The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has proposed fining Boeing for nearly $20 million for allegedly installing Rockwell Collins Head-up Guidance Systems on 791 jets, including 737 Max’s and NG’s, prior to being approved.
The alleged activities took place between June 2015 and April 2019.
Boeing said the proposed fine did not involve a safety issue and that the systems “met or exceeded” the original requirements.
The FAA also alleged that Boeing failed to follow its own business process instructions.
