Kampala, Uganda 10th April, 2017 –Uganda’s fastest and easy online bus booking system BookPay (U) Ltd will be the first digital financial service provider within transport sector in Uganda that provides end-to-end self-service digital channels for bus booking through BookPay mobile, web, USSD and desktop application. 
BookPay will enable travelers to search, book and pay for bus tickets of buses that operate within East Africa and then conveniently pay for their bus tickets using either mobile money or a universal travel card (National ID). BookPay is integrated to mobile money platforms of the various telecoms including MTN mobile money, Airtel money / WaridPesa, Orange money, UTL’s M-sente and Safaricom’s M-PESA, allowing customers to make direct transactions from their mobile money accounts to the bus company’s account. The platform allows customers to book and pay for a seat of their choice, after which a digital receipt is issued. The receipt can be printed and issued as evidence of payment to the bus operator/conductor or an e-ticket (QR Code) simply presented and verified at the bus entrance. 
BookPay will bring with it a refreshing revolution in the way people find and book buses as well as how buses operate in Uganda and East Africa. It will be tailored not just for the travelers’ convenience and rich travel information but also to ensure that bus operators maximize profits and adopt lean methods of operations while cutting tremendously on their operational costs.
