DStv extended a sponsorship package towards the annual Rotary 5-a-side football tournament slated for Saturday 22nd September at KCCA Stadium.
The package worth UGX10m in cash was unveiled on Friday 14th September at Multichoice offices in Kololo.
“This is a great cause to which we are privileged to be a part of. As a brand we always wish to play a positive role in the communities in which we operate and partnering with Rotary is one of the ways of doing so,” said Phoebe Nakabazzi.
Francis Ogwang, President of the Rotary Club of Kiwatule commended DStv for the courteous gesture towards the 5-a-side stating that; “This sponsorship will go a distance in improving the lives of the less advantaged in the community. I want to assure our sponsors today and the public at large that the organization is underway and Rotarians are ready and excited to play on the d-day.”
The DStv Rotary 5-a-side is an annual fundraising football tournament organised by the Rotary Club of Kiwatule. It brings together Rotarians from across the country to have fun as they compete for funds for their respective community service projects.
The one-day event that runs from 9am – 6pm is expected to be graced by 24 Rotary clubs and corporate teams to raise funds for Rotary. Prize Money from the tournament goes towards Rotary community service projects and is as below;
