Ethiopian Airlines has once again reaffirmed its position as Africa’s leading airline with the announcement of a new daily service connecting Addis Ababa to Port Sudan, starting on October 15, 2024.
This strategic move underscores the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity across Africa, while contributing to the region’s economic development and boosting trade and tourism.
The introduction of this new route will not only benefit travelers flying between Ethiopia and Sudan, but also those from the airline’s vast global network who can now seamlessly connect to Port Sudan. This Red Sea port city, known for its economic significance and rich cultural heritage, will now be more accessible to the world, thanks to Ethiopian Airlines.
The first flight, ET350, will depart Addis Ababa at 11:00 AM and arrive in Port Sudan at 12:15 PM, with the return flight, ET351, leaving at 2:15 PM and landing in Addis Ababa at 5:30 PM. These flights will be operated using the Boeing 737 Max, ensuring passengers experience modern comfort and reliability.
Speaking about the new service, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew remarked, “We are pleased to connect our Sudanese brothers and sisters from Port Sudan to Addis Ababa and the rest of the world through our extensive network. By introducing daily flights to Port Sudan, we are not just linking destinations, but also bridging cultures and economies.
This expansion showcases our dedication to driving progress and prosperity across the continent.” With the addition of Port Sudan, Ethiopian Airlines now flies to 66 destinations within Africa.
