Evening of glamour and delight as UTB Celebrates Miss Tourism

Having momentously represented his country at the just concluded Miss Tourism World Pageant, Uganda’s beauty queen Anita Ayebare was officially welcomed back into the country by Uganda Tourism Board at a cocktail event held at Sheraton Gardens.

Ayebare emerged as the fourth runner up at the global pageant that was held in the Croatian Capital of Zagreb, on Saturday June 1, 2019. This was the 74th edition of the Miss Tourism World Pageant though it was Uganda’s first time taking part in the prestigious event.

Speaking at the event, the overly joyed “mugore” (celebrated beauty queen, Ayebare) said that she was happy to have represented and shared her country’s beauty and diversity with the rest of the world.

“I am happy that i have been able to present the beauty of my country to the world, for a country that was participating in Miss Tourism World for the very first time, Uganda finishing in the position that we did was phenomenal. As a beauty queen, my role is one, to capture the attention of those around. If you must promote something, you must present something beautiful and that is exactly what i did in the completion, i represented and presented my country in a beautiful way,” she noted.

The Uganda Tourism Boards CEO, Lilly Ajarova congratulated the beauty queen on her performance and also commented that she was very proud of Ayebare’s efforts of holding Uganda’s flag high and promoting the Pearl of Africa brand to the rest of the world.

The glamorous event was attended by the Deputy CEO Uganda Tourism Board Bradford Ochieng, the reigning Miss Tourism Margaret Kankwanzi, and the CEO Miss Tourism Kanyike Allan Bwete among others.

Also, the CEO Miss Tourism Kanyike Allan Bwete said that they were happy to be working with UTB as a partner.

“Our vision at Miss Tourism Uganda is to see that pageants such as these which are great platforms for enabling Ugandans to tell their stories about their country’s cultural diversity continue to reach out to more people,” he noted.

At the event, Uganda Tourism Board CEO flagged off this year’s Miss Tourism Uganda 2019/20 edition. She called upon all young ladies citizens of Uganda to register in their respective regions to participate in Miss Tourism Uganda that is full of opportunities as witnessed.

The grand finale to this competition is scheduled to take place on 4th October 2019 at Kampala Serena hotel.
