Ugandan celebrated and music sensational Edrisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo is the newly appointed Ugandan Tourism ambassador. The musician whohas long been known to have his country and countrymen at heart bears outstanding optimism like never before with the new responsibility upon him.
The pronunciation was made by the reigning minister for Tourism Hon Geoffrey Kiwanda Suubi in Kampala while officiating at the unveiling ceremony.
The minister disclosed that they were privileged to have ties and work with a musician who has used his music to positively sell out his country unlike other musicians who do not portray positivity about their country in their music.
The minister added that Kenzo’s volunteer roles include marketing the tourism sector from the four fronts which he identified as the; Tulambule campaign that creates local awareness of Uganda’s visibility in the East African region, Destination Uganda campaign that seeks to attract tourists from the rest of Africa, Twende Uganda Tourism Campaign and the Global Pearl of Africa campaign.
The minister also pronounced that Eddy Kenzo was chosen to take on the new role because his music has over the years been instrumental in restoring hope to the populace, building confidence and show casing Ugandan potential and strength to the entire world.
Kenzo’s sole contribution will be to infuse his music appeal with beauty of Uganda in order to encourage at attract more tourists to visit the Pearl of Africa.
While addressing the sited gathering together with the attending press, Eddy Kenzo said he had earlier served as a Tourism ambassador for the neighboring country of Kenya. This had earlier been questioned by his fellow countrymen who saw it as an un patriotic move an act Kenzo thinks otherwise.
Kenzo pledged to employ his vast network of friends, professionals and connections across the world to unlock Uganda’s enormous tourism potential not forgetting empowering the local population to dive in into local tourism.
