Thousands Turn for the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon

Close to 3,600 participants graced the much anticipated third edition of the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon that took place in Kasese district during the weekend including marathoners from 33 countries.

The yearly Marathon organised by Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon Team in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism Board, Britam Insurance, Uganda Airlines, CFAO Mobility, Rwenzori Drinking Water, Private Sector Foundation Uganda, and Standard Chartered,  saw an incredible turnout of enthusiastic participants, whose energy and spirit lit up the event to run in the various categories including 5Km, 10 km, 21km and 42km.

Next year, the Marathon is set for 6th September, 2025. The organizers are looking forward to an even more spectacular event, building on the success of this year’s marathon.

Thousands turn up for the 13th Rotary Cancer Run

Over 50,000 runners turned up for the 13th edition of the annual Cancer Run marathon at the UMA Parking Grounds in Kampala.

This year’s Rotary Cancer Run, themed: ‘Spread Magic in Every Step’, aimed to raise Shs. 4 billion for the construction of two bunkers at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya drew a significant turnout of over 50,000 participants from locations across Uganda and key cities worldwide, demonstrating a united commitment to this critical cause.

The run was flagged off by Joseph Balikuddembe, the Executive Director of Centenary Bank, who thanked Ugandans for their constant support towards the effort to eliminate the cancer scourge.

In its 13 years of existence, the cancer run has managed to register over 30,000 runners annually and the number of runners continues to grow.

Congolese Star Ya Levis Fires Up Kampala

During the weekend, Congolese music superstar Ya Levis put on an exhilarating performance at the Kampala Serena Hotel Victoria Hall, organised by House of DJs and Fenon Events.

The Saturday, August 24th, concert dubbed ‘’Ganda Vibes Experience with Ya Levis’’ witnessed hundreds of Kampala’s party animals turn up after nearly two years of anticipation.

By 3 PM, Gates opened up for party lords, and by 6 PM, the venue was all filled as revellers were set in high gear to dance to Ya Levi’s tantalising jams.

Spice Diana, Sheebah and Pallaso Light Up Kyotera

Local musicians Spice Diana, Pallaso, and Sheebah put on an electrifying performance for fans in Kyotera, Masaka as BBS Terefayina marked its 8th anniversary last Saturday.

The Buganda Kingdom-based television station drew a large crowd as they celebrated the milestone with their devoted fans in Southern Uganda.

Azawi critiques Fenon Events SoundClaims it Poor

On Saturday, the controversial Swangz Avenue music superstar sparked a social media uproar with her negative comments about Fenon Events, one of the largest event organizers in Kampala.

She mentioned that she has worked with Fenon Events on 4 to 5 shows but noticed that they couldn’t deliver good sound output in her post on X.

It’s on record that Fenon Events has organized the biggest local and international events for over 20 years and none of the artists has complained so far including the most recent being the Kirk Franklin show in Kampala last weekend.
