Geu Averages Double-Double for Ugandan National Team

 

North Dakota State junior basketball player, Deng Geu recently played three games for Uganda’s national team in FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, averaging a double-double and leading the tournament in rebounding.

Geu averaged 13.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.

On 29th June 2018, in the opener against Nigeria, the top-ranked African nation, Geu posted 13 points and 12 rebounds. He followed up with another 13-point, 12-rebound performance against Mali on June 30, and closed the tournament with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Rwanda on July 1.

Geu’s average of 11.3 rebounds per contest led all players in the first round of the African FIBA World Cup qualifying. Uganda was eliminated from the tournament, as ultimately the top five of 16 African countries will advance to the 2019 FIBA World Cup
