ICDL Africa’s Digital Explorer empowers Ugandan students with essential digital skills, driving digital literacy and preparing them for the professional landscape.
ICDL Africa, the provider of internationally recognized digital skills certification, is making waves in Uganda with the launch of the groundbreaking ICDL Africa Digital Explorer competition. This student competition aims to equip the future workforce with essential digital skills and foster digital literacy among students across the country.
Scheduled to take place on Monday July 10, 2023, at Golden Tulip Hotel, the launch event marks a significant milestone in ICDL Africa’s mission to empower youth with essential digital competencies. The Digital Explorer competition will expose participants to emerging technologies, design principles, and office application tools, providing them with practical skills crucial for success in the digital economy.
Michael Niyitegeka, Country Manager at ICDL Africa, expressed the organization’s commitment to empowering Uganda’s youth: “We believe that by promoting digital literacy and fostering a passion for digital skills among students, we can help them unlock their full potential and create a digitally competent workforce in Uganda.”
To ensure the success and impact of the ICDL Africa Digital Explorer in Uganda, ICDL Africa will collaborate closely with educational institutions, government bodies, and stakeholders. The organization will provide comprehensive training materials and resources, supporting the integration of digital literacy education in schools and inspiring a culture of lifelong learning.
In addition to the Digital Explorer competition, ICDL Africa is also launching the ICDL student Clubs in Uganda. These clubs will serve as hubs for learning and collaboration, offering students a platform to further develop their digital skills and engage in practical digital projects. By establishing a vibrant community of digital learners, ICDL Africa aims to prepare Ugandan students for the digital challenges of the future and contribute to the country’s digital transformation.
