Israel tourists travel to Uganda to enjoy views of beautiful sceneries

A team of more than 250 tourists  from Israel yesterday traveled to destination Uganda for a tourism visit to witness several attractions the pearl of Africa has in stock.

They arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday afternoon aboard ELAL (Israel Airlines) after taking a direct flight from Israel to Entebbe, Uganda as they will be touring the country’s beautiful attractions till this week on Saturday.

Former Uganda Tourism Board CEO, Mr Stephen Asiimwe received the Tourists at the VVIP terminal at Entebbe Airport.

Upon reaching Entebbe, they paid a visit at the historic site of the July 4, 1976 raid at the old airport where an Israel commander, Yona Netanyahu perished as he tried rescuing hostages during the raid.

Uganda Tourism Board says this is a great move as the country will be earning good revenue from the tourists as they are planned to visit national parks, Jewish community in Mbale,many cultural places and the source of the nile.

Team leader of the Israel tourists who checked in Uganda yesterday, Tali Yativ commented that she is super excited to be in Uganda as she loves the nature and the people of Uganda.

In the meantime, Tourism Minister, Professor Ephraim Kamuntu is leading a delegation from Uganda Tourism Board among other stakeholders in Israel Capital – Tel Aviv to take part in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market in Israel.

The current Israel tourists’ visit in Uganda will be followed with commercial flights to begin operations from Entebbe to Isreal towards end of the year.
