Pupils of Kanara primary school in kamwenge celebrated as Hima cement supported them with a four classroom block to make learning comfortable.
The handover took place last week Friday 20th July 2018 as Hima CEO, Mr Nicholas George officiated the classroom opening ceremony in the presence of parents, teachers ,district leaders and pupils.
Mr. George said “This is very important for us because we want to give back as much as we can to the local communities where we operate. Education is a priority, and with this classroom, we believe that it sets the right foundation for the students to work hard and build their potential to be leaders of tomorrow.”
The school, which has an enrolment of over 800 pupils is found in Kanara Sub-county, a few kilometers from the Hima Cement Dura Quarry. The construction of the four classrooms and sanitary facilities started last year in November and was completed in April this year.
