Starting next week on Monday, Kenya Airways will be offering repatriation flights to stranded nationals from Paris (France), Dubai (UAE), Khartoum (Sudan) and Johannesburg (South Africa).
These repatriation flights are prior to the outcry from various nationals that were left stranded when international air travel was halted to stop the increased spread of Coronavirus across borders while various Countries enforced lockdowns from all kind of travel and business except for essential workers.
While air travel was temporarily closed off internationally, only emergency medical flights and cargo were the only ones allowed to operate from March 2020 while Airlines grounded their fleet and reduced staff as Coronavirus had taken toll across the entire globe starting from the Chinese City of Wuhan.
Currently as lockdowns have been relaxed in most Countries, airlines have been allowed to repatriate stranded citizens that have surfaced difficult times in foreign countries and Kenya Airways joins the band wagon to re-unite loved ones once again starting Monday July 6th, 7th, 8th,9th, and 11th 2020.
The Airways adds that so as to minimise the risk of Covid-19 spread, it will not offer blankets, headset, newspapers in Business Cabin and Blanket, headset in Economy Cabin. In addition, all guest are required to wear mask at all times and maintain social distance at the airport for all formalities (Check-in / Boarding etc).
Also due to unavoidable circumstances, Kenya Airways will not be able to process visa and Master card through the website and mobile application as all applicants are required to call at the Airways call centre for assistance on +254711024747 or +44 20 82831800.
