General Aviation means tourist and special charter flights hence commercial passenger flights are still closed as communication on when they will restart will be passed out.

According to a press statement issued last week on Thursday June 18th by Rwanda Airports Company Managing Director – Firmin Karambizi, travelers will have to expect a new Airport user experience at both arrival and departure so as to ensure non spread of Coronavirus and as a result, health measures have been placed across the different segments of airport operations in a bid to regulate and ensure travelers are the first priority.

Firmin revealed that, ‘’Arriving passengers will have to present a COVID -19 PCR test certificate from a certified ISO laboratory as tests are to be done prior to 72 hours of planned travel to Rwanda. Face mask wearing is mandatory not forgetting social distancing while at Kigali International Airport’’

He added that, ‘’Temperature screening will be a must at entry and exit points while at the Airport and hand sanitizers have been placed to be used by travelers throughout the terminals.

Furthermore, the Airport stepped up on cleaning measures including increased cleaning of facilities with Ministry of Health approved effective germicidal agents that kill all Coronaviruses and outlined in the health ministry recommendations for cleaning and disinfection.

Lastly, the Airport also warned that travelers must adhere to the aforementioned guidelines in order to ensure their safe stay or visit while in the Country and make it memorable and enjoyable.
