Kampala, Uganda. June 21st, 2016 – South Africa’s multi-award winning house band Mi casa, will be headlining the 13th Edition of Blankets and Wine in Kampala on the 10th July, 2016 alongside some of Uganda’s best afro-pop and afro-fusion acts.
The thirteenth edition of the premier Afro-based musical experience powered by Tusker Malt Lager will be held at its proverbial home, the Uganda Museum with dazzling performances lined up from Uganda’s top multi-talented female sensation Mo-Roots, top saxophonist Kirya Kuti, Tusker Project Fame 4 winner Davis Ntare, multilingual songbird, Jackie Akello and the headline act, Mi casa from South Africa.
Mi casa, a house band based in Johannesburg, South Africa, consists of 3 members, Dr. Duda – the pianist, J’Something – the vocalist and guitarist, and Mo-T – the trumpeter.
The group’s first album titled Micasa Music, went gold and won several awards at the 18th Annual South Africa Music Awards in 2012.
Hits such as Turn You On, Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend and These Streets earned them three nominations at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.
Although hailing from diverse backgrounds, these lads put together weave musical magic that is highly infectious and undeniably groovy.
MoRoots will add spice to an already glittery nuance of artistes. Widely renowned for her multi-talent; instrumentalist, song writer and currently the best female saxophonist in Uganda. MoRoots’ energetic performance will be a welcome addition to revelers who will flock the Uganda Museum.
Rising star and super saxophonist, Kirya Kuti, will be sampling revelers with the finest from his dazzling jazz compilation at his debut Blankets and Wine performance.
Davis Ntare, Tusker Project Fame season 4 winner and Jackie Akello, an African contemporary and urban multilingual music performer; with performances in Acholi, Luganda, Swahili and English will complete our 13th edition star studded artiste line up.

Entrance fee is 100,000 UGX at the Uganda Museum and gates open at 12:00pm on Sunday July 10, 2016.
