Miss tourism Uganda 2019/2020 Kyeru Phiona is back to Uganda from Malaysia where she contested in the 22nd Edition of Miss Tourism International World Final and finished in the top six. The beauty pageant that lasted 19-days (22nd October 2019 – 10th November 2019) entertained numerous beauty queens who showcased their abilities among other activities.
The grand Final gala dinner show was held on 8th November 2019 at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, Bandar Sunway, Malaysia amid numerous cheers and glamour from revelers and contestants respectively.
This year’s competition that was themed “Embracing Visit Truly Asia Malaysia 2020” aimed at promoting Visit Malaysia Year 2020.
This extensive pageantry title was in effort to promote Malaysia’s Tourism and reveal to the world its many beautiful faces, from the bustling cities and idyllic towns to the sun-kissed islands. The pageant also serves as a platform to educate and promote tourism and cultural exchanges among the participating beauty delegates. The Miss Tourism International has grown to be the proverbial vehicle; capturing the essence of the Malaysia and its way of life through the eyes of these beauties.
The event saw the arrival of 50 delegates from around the world embracing the warm welcome of Malaysia.
Cyrille Payumo (22-year-old) of the Philippines was crowned Miss Tourism International 2019/2020, beating 39 other contestants at the pageant finals.
The Miss Tourism International pageant was first held in Sarawak in 1994.
