One such route leads through Murchison Falls National Park, a natural treasure under the custodianship of the Uganda Wildlife Authority. To ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife, the authority has released guidelines for those transiting through the park.

Entrance Fees and Park Hours

Before embarking on your journey through Murchison Falls National Park, it’s important to note that all vehicles, except those prohibited from using the Karuma bridge, will be required to pay an entrance fee. Plan your visit within the park’s operational hours, which are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Compliance with these timings is crucial, as no exceptions will be made.

Speed Limits and No Littering

For the safety of all park occupants, motorists are advised to adhere strictly to the designated speed limit of 40 Km/h within the park premises. Failure to comply may result in immediate fines or penalties. Additionally, visitors are urged to refrain from littering, with specific emphasis on bus operators educating passengers on the importance of maintaining cleanliness within the park. Penalties will be imposed on operators for failure to prevent littering.

No Stopping and Restricted Driving Areas

To minimize disturbance to wildlife and ensure visitor safety, unnecessary stops within the park have been strictly prohibited. However, stops for emergency situations are permitted. Moreover, all vehicles, except authorized tourist vehicles, are restricted from deviating from the designated Kichumbanyobo – Tangi road. Unauthorized diversions will be considered entry without a valid permit and will be penalized accordingly.

No Hooting and No Feeding Animals

Visitors and travellers through the park are reminded that hooting and feeding animals within the park are strictly prohibited. These regulations are in place to safeguard the natural beauty and biodiversity of Murchison Falls National Park while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all visitors.

As you traverse through Murchison Falls National Park, let’s uphold these regulations to protect this natural gem for generations to come.
