In Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, Pesapal debuted a brand-new forecourt management solution on Wednesday. It is the first programme designed especially for Africa that offers integrated payments in addition to capabilities for monitoring and gathering data.
The automation of fuel and retail management procedures is driven by the Pesapal Forecourt Management Solution. It effortlessly integrates digital payments and distribution locations and is supported by solutions that cut expenses and theft while enhancing the consumer experience.
Convenience services, new fuels, and battery charging are transforming the economic models of independent fuel station operators and major forecourt networks. This makes playing the game more thrilling, challenging, and dangerous. According to Agosta Liko, CEO of Pesapal, “We’re helping them automate and digitise so they can concentrate on developing their businesses.”
Petrol station operators may remotely monitor and operate LPG and gasoline dispensers with the Pesapal Forecourt Management Solution. The solution automates communication between these and pricing displays, tank gauges, and payment systems, which combine mobile money, cards, and internet payments as is customary with Pesapal.
“We’ve worked with gas station owners across East Africa for months, and we’ve heard about a lack of accessible monitoring and data tools for our particular context on a regular basis.” Many owners desire to convert their forecourt into a multi-use centre, but they are currently operating in the dark, Mr. Liko continued.
Station owners can connect point of sale (POS) and other digital platforms to forecourt operations using Pesapal, which offers a back-end reporting tool. Centralized price adjustments, RFID-based attendant tagging, automatic product indenting, and posting of outlet data to head office systems are further features.
Pesapal is a Technical Associate of the International Forecourt Standards Forum (IFSF). This community is focused on technology standards to benefit automotive fuel and energy retailers. It is also championing the interoperability of forecourt and convenience devices and services. IFSF membership paves the way for Pesapal to partner with African forecourt operators to drive further automation and meet changing global standards.
“While the world is looking to decarbonize, our cities and communities are getting more mobile.” We’re using different types of transport, changing fuels, and creating new finance and subscription products. Forecourts are the frontlines of this transformation. They’ll have many more moving parts and different retail, energy, and fuel suppliers, Mr Liko noted.
Pesapal has more than ten years of experience providing simply comprehensible data on clients, payments, sales, and inventories to African businesses.
“With the introduction of the Pesapal Forecourt Management Solution, we are encouraged to observe the developments in fuel retail automation being made in the African market. Customers and retailers can both benefit from this centralized solution’s increased fuel monitoring, fraud protection, and improved customer experiences. We’re interested in observing how this technology affects the Ugandan fuel retail sector. Emmy Rono, the country manager for Pesapal Uganda, said
