The first of its kind, national pork expo is targeting more than 10,000 attendees and is dedicated to showcasing innovations along the pig value chain including; value addition techniques, pork recipes, feed additives, non conventional feed sources, specialized pig feeds, farm equipment, genetics and marketing tactics at the same time sensitizing the general public about African swine fever .
The Pork Expo will also include B2B meetings involving Pig genetics distributors, Pig buyers, pig feed manufacturers and distributors, pig equipment manufacturers and distributors, pork processors and successful pig farmers. Side training on commercial pig farming will also be conducted. The Pork Expo aims at creating an educational platform to further awareness and challenge conventions.
The Pork Expo will take place from 24th to 25th June 2017 in Mandela National Stadium – Nambole. The Pork Expo will feature an Exhibition, Training on pig farming, Business to business meetings, Various pork dishes to taste and a celebration with local musicians in the last hours of the second day of the event.
Objectives
1. To link both local & international pig value chain actors for increased business
2. To disseminate new technologies and innovations along the pig value chain
3. To unveil opportunities and importance of pork value addition to the actors.
