Prudential Insurance has this Thursday launched the three days health Camp at City Square for the general public. After identifying causes to the most notorious diseases that affect our hearts and leading to early deaths if one cannot access the expensive treatment that comes along of approximately Shs8 Million. The insurance operator decided to have heart health check-ups for free during the Heart Camp dubbed ‘’Omutima Gwo’’ happening between Thursday 07th – 9th November 2019 at City Square just opposite Mapeera house, Kampala Road.
The Guest of Honor during the Heart Camp launch, Minister of State for Health, Hon. Sarah Opendi cautioned the public against reckless lifestyles like Alcohol consumption, Tobacco and Narcotics consumption plus poor eating habits as she advised the general public to go for regular checks to know the status of their Heart health atleast once a year.
According to Prudential MD, East Africa – Mr Arjun Malik, the national survey of 2014 by the World Health Organisation Ministry of Health indicates that 1 out of 4 adults has high blood pressure which is a major cause of heart diseases and other heart related complications.
This year’s health camp is in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Uganda Heart Institute, Radio One, Akaboozi, NBS Television, International Medical Centre and Capital Fm.
The health camp is absolutely free of charge to the general public.
