While the entire globe continues to suffocate with the deadly Covid-19 pandemic that greatly affected the aviation industry and other sectors, many Airlines and Airports across the world grounded their fleet and sealed off Airports and border points to limit spread of Coronavirus and to this RwandAir was not exceptional as Rwandan official national carrier called off passenger flights to different regional and international destinations except for Cargo and repatriation flights as the Country went on lockdown in March.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, Rwanda revealed that its borders and airport are temporarily sealed off from all international passenger flights till May 15th, 2020 as more details will be availed.
What’s next for stranded customers with RwandAir Tickets?
Before closing off the airport and borders, some customers had purchased tickets for travel at later dates, however all these were put on hold as the airline called off passenger flights for fear of wild spread of Coronavirus in the Country. According to the statement released yesterday, RwandAir revealed that Customers holding RwandAir tickets for flights during this period have the option to rebook with the airline to fly at a later date as all change fees will be waived, giving customers more flexibility to delay their travel.
However, all affected customers will have to contact RwandAir via reservations@rwandair.com or their travel agent if their booking was not made directly with the airline.
