1. Nyege Nyege Festival
There are festivals and there is Nyege Nyege, a place like nowhere else we have ever been. This
weekend, fun comes to us right by the spring of the river Nile in Jinja, Uganda’s second biggest
city. From 5-8th September 2019, the Nyege Nyege crew turn an abandoned holiday resort into a
wonderland of music and general madness.
The organizers are super stoked to be back with an exciting stage of their own, broadcasting two
full days of music from all over the African continent and special guests from as far as Shanghai
and Bali. The event is hosted by Boiler Room and NYEGE NYEGE. Tickets to the event can be
gotten from the Nyege Nyege website.
2. Nameless at Comedy Store ug
Comedy Store ug returns this thursday with a bang. Kenyan Music Legend, Nameless is in town
ahead of today’s Comedy store at Uma Grounds Lugogo. The event will be an evening full of
merry making and Laughter with the best comedians around town that will crack your ribs hard
with laughter. Also, in attendence will be Ugandan hip hop music artist Gravity Omutujju, John
blaq “AYAA BASSI” and other musicians.
3. EMMANUELLA, SUCCESS and MARK ANGEL Comedy Show
Uganda’s comedy industry is definitely going to be booming this weekend. The trending
youngest Nigerian comedian and celebrity, Emmanuella is in Uganda this weekend. The 6 and 9-
year-old starlets [Success and Emmanuella respectively] have subsequently gained global
stardom and worldwide recognition at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards, Niger Delta Special
Awards, City People Awards, Prominent Kid Comedienne and Princess of Comedy from
Australia.
Emmanuella who is praised by Uganda’s Fresh Kid in his song “Bambi” as a role model, will
share the same stage with the ‘Banteeka’ fame child who is currently rocking Uganda’s air waves.
Emmamuella along with fellow comedian Success and their mentor Mark Angel will be
performing at the Serena Hotel and Freedom City on 7th and 8th September 2019 respectively.
4. Heroes in Color Run 2019
Another episode of the Heroes in color run is here. TECNO Mobile together with our partners
Star Times,MTN,BELL LAGER and NYK Promotions have organized a color dubbed ‘TECNO
Heroes in Color run’ where by proceeds will go to buying computers for secondary schools in
Mukono district. To be part of the event, the general public can simply pay for an ordinary ticket
is at 15,000UGX . There is a special offer for children below 13 years. They will get tickets at
10,000UGX shs only all purchases from any TECNO branded shop next to you. Come be part of the exciting Run this Saturday starting at 8 AM – 7 PM, taking part at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
5. JUST GOT PAID Fridays
Any ‘Party animals’ in the house!? Here we go… ‘Just got paid Fridays’ is officially Launching this weekend on 6th/September at Nexus Lounge, Najjera. Come enjoy great Sounds by Sir.Aludah, VJ.BabyLove. You can book a table with a bottle of Whisky or Champagne to accompany you through the glamourous night.
6. Kidepo Valley Tour
Roma Safaris Ltd has organise a 4day trip and tour of Kidepo Valley National Park. The 4 day trip that starts Friday Sep 6 at 1 PM – Sep 9 at 4 PM will involve, zziwa rhino sanctuary, kidepo, nature walks, round trip back through mbale kapchorwa Sipi falls. 7. Lucky’s groove back 3
Lucky’s fitness groove back 3 is back redefined and improved. Come have a body work out and receive tips on healthy living. This event is hosted by Bata and will take place on Saturday at 3 PM – 6 PM at the Mtn Arena Indoor stadium Lugogo, Kampala, Uganda.
8. Akogo Festival 2019 Launch
Pilsner Lager and NBS TV present Akogo Festival 2019 launch in Kampala with the theme “Celebrating Iteso Culture” on Saturday 7th September 2019 at UMA Lugogo gardens. Kampala Book Market is an open free literary market for books. Authors, publishers, booksellers, writers, poets and many more bring their products (books) to the market to sell. This market also provides an opportunity for book geeks and lovers of literary world to meet and network, critic each other,enjoy poetry performances and everything that African Literature is. Books to expect at this 17th Edition of Kampala Book Market that will happen on Saturday at 10 AM – 6 PM at the Uganda Museum include fiction and non-fiction.
