Uganda is not only blessed with flora and fauna but also a great and rising Footballing country having currently qualified to the African continental football finals twice in a row now. - Kampala Capital City Authority FC
Nicknamed the ‘Kasasiro Boys” (translated to as ‘Garbage collectors’ in Luganda language), Kampala Capital City Authority is one of the oldest traditional clubs having been founded on 12th April 1963. The team plays in the top Uganda football team and on the continental level where it has registered consistent improvement over the last appearances. There have been much improvements within the team to effectively compete at the top most African level. This has seen the team record improvements in both the team’s performances and administration. The home of KCCA FC in Lugogo, Kampala, is known as the Star Times Stadium since 2017 for sponsor ship reasons but was formerly named Philip Omondi Stadium. One of the major achievements of KCCA FC is a strong and well natured youth team whose products have continued to prove a point once promoted to the senior team.

- Vipers SC
The three times Uganda premier league Champions come in our second spot not because of their champions won but because of the team’s structures and tremendous growths over the years. The club was founded in 1969 formerly as Bunamwaya FC but later rebranded as Vipers SC in August 2012 in order to elevate the status of the club. The club owns a state-of-the-art football stadium, St.Mary’s Stadium, which has a sitting capacity of 20,000. The club also boosts of a strong youth team whose products are often promoted to the senior team and a range of professional football facilities outstanding of them being their latest gym at their Kitende stadium.
- Sc Villa Jogoo
Founded in 1975, Sports Club Villa is Uganda’s oldest football club and not coincidentally, doubles as the most successful club with a record 16 times Uganda Premier League champions. The club is nicknamed Jogoo Salongo due to some earlier pattern in winning the league trophies. The club boosts of an over whelming supporters’ follow up with whooping bookings of fans that flock stadiums to watch their games.

- Express FC
Founded in October 1957 by the managers of Uganda Express newspapers, Express FC is the second oldest club still standing in Uganda’s football history. The team is nick named the Red Eagles and Mukwano Rwa Bangi (literally translated as ‘A friend to many’). The Red Eagles were among the first Ugandan clubs to use football boots and since the team was revived in 1979, they have never been relegated from the top tier league. The club is the most successful in the Uganda cup having won the competition on ten occasions.

5. Uganda Revenue Authority SC
Nick named the ‘Tax collectors’, URA SC is a young club having played their first Uganda premier league game in 2002 having taken over Lyantombe. However they have denied the odds winning the top tier league four times and the Uganda Cup on three occasions.
- Police FC
A maiden football club inaugurated in 1965 has proved to be on of Uganda’s top clubs. The club was initially formed to embed the Uganda police forces into sporting activities specifically football. Regardless of having less trophy victories with in the Uganda premier league (1-2005), the club has maintained a professional image and natured great Ugandan talents that have represented the country up to the national team.
- Maroons FC
Maroons Football Club is also known as Prisons Football Club. Playing as Prisons FC, the club won the first two editions of the Ugandan Premier League in 1968 and 1969. The club is one of the Ugandan teams that has made it to the African Cup of Champions Clubs having finished quarterfinalists in 1970 after losing 6–2 on aggregate to Egypt’s Ismaily.

- Onduparaka FC
The club’s name means ‘sorghum stem’ in the Lugbara language while motto is: The struggle continues. Onduparaka FC was formed in late October 2011 as an amateur club. They play home games at Greenlight Stadium in Onduparaka, a suburb. Originally, the club was intended to benefit students and young people and enable them to play in inter-village competitions. The club is one of the great successes having maintained a good league performance over the years that has seen numerous sponsors come in to pattern with the club. During 2017, their first season in the top flight, Onduparaka FC was the only UPL team unbeaten at home.
- Proline FC
Proline FC was founded in 2006 and was promoted to the top flight Uganda Premier League in 2007. The team has been seen as a flourishing young team with the 2018-19 season being on of their best ever. Regardless of having been in the championship (FUFA Big League), the team proved a point by getting promoted to the top tier league after topping the Elgon group, winning the 2018–19 Uganda Cup and winning the second division title. - Wakiso Giants
Bottom of our list comes a newbie, Wakiso Giants. The team is a Ugandan football club based in Wakiso District that plays in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. The club was established in 2009 as Artland Katale. It earned promotion to the top tier after topping Elgon Group with 41 points in the 2018/19 season. The club makes it to our top 10 basically because of the fast achievements it has registered in a very short span one of them being an organized side and sort to be great club in the making. The club has also upgraded the Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium where they will host their home games in the coming 2019/20 season, won a splendid players’ bus that will see their travels fast and convenient and boost of a deep squad.
