Uganda Airlines is launching a new route to Zimbabwe this month, with flights between Entebbe and Harare starting on September 25. This new service aims to enhance trade and tourism between Uganda and Zimbabwe, as there are currently no direct air links between the two nations.
The airline also plans to expand its routes to include Lusaka, Bulawayo, and Victoria Falls, targeting high-traffic routes between Zimbabwe and Zambia. This initiative is part of Uganda Airlines’ broader strategy to grow its regional presence.
Additionally, Uganda Airlines plans to carry cargo to capitalize on the volume of goods traded between these destinations, aiming to achieve profitability within 18 months of the route’s launch.
Zimbabwe, which now hosts over 20 foreign airlines due to its thriving economy, tourism, and open skies policy, is an attractive destination. Uganda Airlines also has plans to extend its services to China and London by the end of the year.
