With continued efforts by relative stake holders to improve the recently revamped national carrier of Uganda, Uganda Airlines, is set to open a route between Entebbe in Uganda and Kinshasa the capital and largest city on the far Western coastline of Democratic Republic of Congo.
The announcement about the due commencement of commercial flights to Kinshasa came following a short notice by the airline officaials through one of their social media platforms. “Hello DR Congo! Bonjour DR Congo! Kinshasa coming soon….Très bientôt….Eza koya….Hivi Karibuni,” the statement read.
Entebbe-Kinshasa route will be the latest to be added on to the route chat with the airline currently conducting commercial flights from Entebbe to Juba, Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Mogadishu, Nairobi, and Mombasa. Expectations are high that the latest route will help to boost trade and tourism between Uganda and DR Congo.
