Uganda Cranes defender Alex Kakuba has completed his transfer from Portuguese club CD Feirense to Greek top-flight outfit Hellenic Republic PAS Giannina. The left-back has since made the move after staying in Portugal for close to six years since transferring from Ugandan club Proline FC.
Media reports suggest that Kakuba has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and will join his teammates where they will play their home games at Zosimades Stadium.
Kakuba will wear jersey number 15 and the former Proline player said it will be a challenge for him, but one that he is ready for.
“It is a challenge for me to compete in a different championship than Portugal and I am looking forward to playing with PAS Giannina,” said Kakuba.
“I hope to stand up to the trust of the President of Team Chrisostasis, our Coach Petrakis and the Football Director of Nirhaco, whom I thank for the opportunity they give me.”
Having previously played for Esperança Lagos, Sporting Covilha and Estoril Praia, the defender is a product of the famous Airtel Masaza Tournament Championship.
