Uganda eliminates entry Visas for South Sudan Citizens

Uganda on Thursday last week waived Visa entry prerequisites for the people of South Sudan effective Friday October 1st, 2021.

In abid to strengthen effective integration of the East African community, South Sudanese nationals are set to start entering Uganda without a Visa as its been in the past.

Hon. Rebecca Kadaga – 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs Rebecca Kadaga said that, ‘’South Sudanese travelling to Uganda will now enter the Country provided they hold at hand a valid passport and possess other valid health condition requirements for travelers’’

She added that, ‘’South Sudan has been given 30 days to reciprocate, but if it fails,  Uganda can revise the move’’.

South Sudanese businessman Thomas Odek is very happy about the development. “I am happy because Uganda has removed visas from South Sudanese who travel to Uganda.”

Recently, South Sudan joined the East African community which includes Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi.
