Running under the theme “Maximizing the Digital Dividend”, the Digital Impact Awards focuses on recognizing achievements made by companies in digital and financial inclusion and Cybersecurity.

“The Digital Impact awards are a brilliant means of showcasing the efforts that Ugandans are taking to embrace the Digital Journey throughout Africa. It is clear that Technology equates Convenience and organisations that do not embrace it will be left behind by their customers.” said Veronica Sentongo, Stanbic Uganda’s Head of Digital banking.  “Stanbic bank is a customer-centric bank that is always looking at the most innovative ways of putting the customer increasingly in control of their overall banking experience. Technology plays a big part of this which is the reason the bank has made considerable investments in a new online banking platform and self-service innovations”. “Most recently we introduced the Stanbic App which provides our customers across the African region with a single-view platform for all interaction with the services offered by the bank. Customers can access their business and personal accounts as well as pay bills (e.g. water, electricity and PayTV) and do account transfers within Stanbic and to other banks in one go. Functionalities include comprehensive beneficiary management, payments to phone contacts and cash withdrawals without a card”.

“The lifestyle patterns of our clients are changing, mobile communications devices are playing and increasingly influential role in our personal and professional lives. Stanbic believes we have key role to play in that lifestyle transformation by providing financial solutions that are relevant to the world we live and the one unfolding in front of us”.

Veronica thanked the management, staff and especially Stanbic customers for the loyalty and support they have given the bank over the past 12 months and promised to unveil a plethora of exciting innovations going forward.
