The Business to Business (B2B) Conference theme is “Consolidating Networks, Synergies & Diversity to maximize the tourism potential between Uganda and Kenya Coastal Region.” It offers a unique platform for tourism professionals from both countries to explore collaborative business opportunities.
The delegation comprises representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), and the Confederation of Uganda Tourism Associations (COUTA), which represents nine national tourism associations in Uganda.
Hon. John Mulimba highlights the significance of this conference, stating that Uganda and Kenya have seen a surge in mutual tourism. In 2022, Uganda was Kenya’s second-largest source market for tourists, and Kenya was Uganda’s leading source market. The conference aims to consolidate and accelerate this growing relationship.
This conference aims to enhance awareness of both destinations, facilitate information exchange, explore investment opportunities, and promote the Entebbe-Mombasa route operated by Uganda Airlines. It seeks to extend regional travel to foreign visitors, creating unforgettable experiences and increasing visitor return rates.
The inaugural Uganda-Kenya Coast Tourism Conference in 2022 was a resounding success, leading to the decision to make it an annual event. Major tourism players expressed their commitment to promoting tourism products from both destinations.
The 2nd Uganda-Kenya Coast Tourism Conference is a vital step towards strengthening the tourism ties between Uganda and Kenya. This collaborative effort promises to boost the industry’s value and provide unforgettable experiences for visitors, enhancing the recovery of the sector.
