When you talk about a “Rolex” in Uganda, one of the last things people probably have in mind is a luxury watch.

Now, on Sunday 19th August, Kampala dwellers gathered at the 3rd edition of the Rolex Festival to enjoy the most treasured snack at the Uganda Museum coupled with entertainment from Ugandan artistes who comprised of Kabako, Fik Fameika, Cindy among many more organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Uganda Tourism board and partners that saw massive turn ups from mostly the young generation who enjoy the dish most.

Rolex is said to have originated in the Busoga region thus becoming popular within student communities who most times can’t afford the high pricing of food for daily meals due to limited budgets.

In Kampala and surrounding areas, a rolex costs between Ugx1, 000 to 1,500 and above depending on one’s special order.

During the Rolex festival, the price of a rolex went for Ugx3, 000 that came along with a 300ml Coca-cola bottle so as to celebrate its uniqueness.
