Kampala, Uganda 09th Nov, 2016 – Qatar Airways today marks five years of service to the pearl of Africa – Uganda. The Doha-based airline celebrated this significant milestone with media and corporate receptions in Kampala attended by the local media and key industry clients.
Qatar Airways started services from Uganda in November 2011, with A320 services between the airline’s hub Doha and Entebbe. The daily flights provide excellent connections via Doha to a more than 150 destinations across the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, including key cities such as London, Paris, Dubai, Shanghai and Beijing.
In addition, Qatar Airways Cargo, the airline’s freighter division, is also celebrating five years of dedicated flights to Entebbe. The thrice-weekly service using an Airbus A330 freighter, offering up to 240 tonnes weekly capacity to and from Entebbe, transports a variety of produce including fresh flowers from Uganda. This significant cargo capacity provides vital routes of commerce between Uganda and the rest of the world.

The Entebbe to Doha non-stop journey is approximately five hours and departs every day from Entebbe International Airport at 19:10 and arrives at Doha’s Hamad International Airport at 00:25. The return flight departs from Doha at 08:15 hrs and reaches Entebbe at 14:15. Customers on board the aircraft can experience Qatar Airways’ award-winning hospitality and service from its multi-national cabin crew and enjoy on-demand dining in Business Class with extraordinary dishes designed by world-renowned chefs.
