The long awaited Uganda Airlines second A3300neo Aircraft has arrived in Uganda this Tuesday morning following promises by the National carrier early last week to have another Plane from Airbus delivered this week so as to add to its fleet making an equivalent of two Airbus and four CRJ900 Bombardier series.
The delivery ceremony was graced by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Uganda Airlines officials including the CEO Cornwell Muleya, dignitaries from Airbus manufacturers among other officials from the Government of Uganda and the media.
To fly the second A330neo from Airbus manufactures in Canada, Uganda Airlines Chief Pilot Captain Micheal Etiang was behind the wheels as upon reaching Entebbe International Airport the Aircraft was treated to a water salute as is the norm.
Through the successful delivery, the Airline affirms its ambition to commence long haul operation and this new wide-body pair will serve clearly the national carriers’ international network expansion with long route flights connecting from its hub – Entebbe International Airport to intercontinental destinations in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
