This  week, contestants in the Topowa campaign got rewarded with cash prize worth Ten Million.

The cash prize was handed over by Uganda Breweries Managing Director Mark Ocitti to Sulaiman Katongole, the founder of Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda at UBL premises in Luzira.

Uganda Breweries Limited started a social media led campaign aimed at rewarding youth led projects/ initiatives that are transforming lives of the youth in the community today. All the participants had to do was tell the most compelling story about the project which was then voted for by followers on the Uganda Breweries Facebook page.

From a total of 42 nominations that were received, Topowa Youth Mentoring Uganda had the highest number of votes for their initiative that empowers youth, facilitates powerful training and sharing effective technical assistance for young people.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ocitti said, “Every Year as we celebrate our anniversary, we stop everything we are doing and engage with our communities in a meaningful and impactful way. This year, we decided to ask the communities to reach out to us in a bid to find one that was working towards empowering and making meaningful change in the lives of the communities. Topowa, on top of being overwhelmingly voted by social media followers, we found, shared the same values that we do. We hope that this donation will push you some on your journey to more good work. “Ocitti added.
