Middle East Flight Resumptions Amid Airspace Disruptions

Middle Eastern airlines have restarted their flights to various destinations in the region. Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, has resumed flights to Amman, Beirut, and Tel Aviv as of Monday, following a disruption due to airspace closures triggered by escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

On Sunday, several countries including Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, and Iraq temporarily closed their airspace, prompting Etihad and other airlines to cancel and reroute flights. Etihad had to cancel flights to Tel Aviv and Amman while adjusting routes for flights bound for Europe and North America to avoid the affected airspace.

Similarly, Emirates, based in Dubai, had to cancel and reroute flights but has now resumed operations to Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq. The airline emphasized safety as its top priority and advised passengers to check flight statuses on their website.

Flydubai and Qatar Airways also reported disruptions but have since resumed flights to affected destinations, with Flydubai in direct contact with affected passengers to manage their travel plans.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and airlines in Iran also faced cancellations and disruptions, with flights redirected through alternative routes and passengers provided with rebooking or refund options.

Meanwhile, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon have reopened their airspace after the initial closures, but flight schedules remain subject to change, with delays expected.

Affected travelers are advised to check their airline’s website for updated information, contact their airline or travel agent for assistance, and monitor the situation closely for any further developments or changes in flight schedules. International airlines, including Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, and Qantas, have also adjusted their flight routes and schedules in response to the airspace restrictions in the region.
