Belgian based Brussels Airport recently signed and sealed off an agreement to take over management at Sheraton Hotel located at Brussels Airport.
The hotel has been formerly owned by a Belgian company called Airhotel Belgium bvba limited.
The Airport is reported to have taken over full control of the hotel due to its strategic location as its situated in front the terminal building and will invest hugely in the international hotel’s brand.
However, the closing of the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions including the approval by the European Commission.
The hotel has upto 294 guest rooms, 21 conference rooms with a maximum capacity of 1,500 persons, restaurant, fitness centre and parking garage.
Upon clearance from the European Commission, the airport will have upto 100% shares for Airhotel Belgium bvba for an undisclosed price.
The Airport reported that there will be no employees affected with the new changes as operations shall continue as usual.
Speaking about the new arrangement, Brussels Airport Company CEO, Arnaud Feist said; “The acquisition of the Sheraton hotel is important for Brussels Airport as it allows us to fully integrate the hotel in our future development plans in this strategic area. We look forward to continuing the successful operation of the Sheraton together with the hotel teams, contributing to the high quality services Brussels Airport offers to its passengers and visitors”
