Uganda’s tourism sector is said to boost up by year 2020 with increased number of tourists upto four million visitors from the current  1.7 million  tourists received annually.

State Minister for Tourism, Geoffrey Kiwanda said that the ministry targets to promote religious tourism in order to maximise the attraction of some religious centres in the country.

Some religious centres like Namugongo Martyrs shrine is only popular for the annual 3rd June Martyrs day celebrations for pilgrims that happens ounce a year yet the country has pilgrimage for the different faiths.

The physically disabled people,  ministry has plans to advance technology inform of cable cars that can help them through mountain climbing.

The Ministry also looks forward to mending back the relationship between tourist centres and members of the community so as to curb wildlife and human wars and farmers whose crops are destroyed by wild animals will be compensated.
