On Monday evening, Coca-Cola launched their Christmas celebrations in a bid to spread the joy of Christmas with individuals and communities in Kampala and surrounding areas.
In partnership with Kampala Capital City Authority, this year’s Christmas celebrations begun with the lighting of a Christmas tree at City Square and the flagging off of Coca-Cola Christmas caravans that will drive around the city and make stop overs in different town centers within Kampala surprising the unsuspecting residents with different foodstuffs and Coca-Cola hampers.
According to Mrs. Maggie Kigozi, the Coca-Cola Uganda Marketing Manager, “World over, Coca-Cola has a long-standing legacy of spreading festive cheer during the holiday season and we know that for many of you, our campaigns mark the unofficial countdown to Christmas. Through these Christmas campaigns, we share the joy of bringing families together and forming great memories over good food and Coca-Cola.”
She further called upon residents of Kampala City and surrounding areas to look out for the Christmas caravan and get themselves some exciting goodies.
KCCA Executive Director Mrs. Jennifer Musisi thanked Coca-Cola for lighting up Kampala and bringing the excitement of Christmas straight to the residents.
“As KCCA, we have always wanted to light up the city during the festive season. We welcome this initiative by Coca-Cola – a brand that we trust and have had a number of partnerships with. Our relationship with Coca-Cola over the past couple of years has enabled us to work on different projects such as the KCCA Festival, the Charity concert and recycling in Kampala city,”
she noted, cautioning the residents of the city not to vandalize the beautiful decorations at City Square.
As part of the Christmas celebrations, Coca-Cola caravans will be driving to different town centers across the city giving out foodstuffs such as rice, matooke, chicken, oil and flour as well as sodas to take city residents through the festive season.
