Activate Uganda will be hosting the 2nd Edition of the Uganda Ultra Circuit Race scheduled for Sunday 13 October 2019. Starting at Entebbe Sail Club. This Endurance race is run on a 2.3km circuit for 6hrs, starting from 7:00am (to 1 pm).

Join the run for a unique, fun filled event where your  not tasked to cover a set distance but rather give you an opportunity to join in and do any distance you want to, as long as it is within a 6 hour time period.

As the course is a 2.3 km lap, you will have a chance to see family and friends at the end of each lap (if they are crazy enough to come and support you) and mingle with all the other competitors as you pass them or they pass you on the course during the six hours, making this the most social running event in Uganda.

How you complete the event is up to you. The only rule is that you do it on your own feet, around the set course, within the allocated time.

Run, walk, rest between laps, dip in the pool to cool down, eat, drink, etc. during the 6 hours you have available.

All participants will be issued a “Finishers Souvenir” stating the distance completed. Whatever distance you cover in the time period will determine any further reward.

As it is a 6 hour challenge, you can decide if you would like to achieve recognition against one of the following distances (there is enough time available to athletes to go a bit beyond the traditional race distances or at least what they may normally aim for).

11 Laps (25.3 kms – stepping up past a half marathon) – Bronze Achievement
18 Laps (41.4 kms – beyond the marathon mark) – Silver Achievement
22 Laps (50.6 kms – Welcome to the Ultra Marathon club) Gold Achievement

A unique Floating Trophy will be awarded to the Male and Female with the highest distance covered during the event.

As an example, if you plan to do 6.9 km per hour (and rest for whatever time is left each hour, if any) you can still earn a recognized award on the day.

As this is this first event of it’s kind in Uganda, there will be a GOLD MEDAL awarding session for all athletes who achieve 15 or more completed laps within the set time on the day.
