Nonetheless, the overall cargo volume trend at the airport is good, with 61,066 metric tonnes recorded in 2022, compared to 64,172 metric tonnes in 2021, 59,720 metric tonnes in 2020, and 64,701 metric tonnes in 2019. Exports make for the vast majority of cargo volume, accounting for about 60% of the total cargo volume.

The growth in passenger traffic and cargo volume at Entebbe International Airport is a positive sign for the aviation industry in Uganda and the region as a whole.

The increase in passenger traffic and cargo volume at Entebbe International Airport is encouraging for the Ugandan aviation industry and the region as a whole.

The increase in passenger traffic reflects people’s growing confidence in travelling, while the increase in cargo volume reflects the country’s efforts to stimulate exports and trade.

The airport’s management and other players in the aviation industry must continue to collaborate to ensure that the positive trend continues and that the airport remains competitive and appealing to airlines and travellers alike.
