The case patient, a 24 year old male adult from the Madudu Sub Country village, was referred by St. Johns Medical Clinic in Mubende districts’ Municipality’s East division.

The ministry attests that he displayed the disease’s telltale signs and symptoms, including a high grade fever, diarrhea, loss of appetite, bloody vomit, pain while swallowing, a dry cough, chest pain, and bleeding from the eyes.

On September 17th, 2022, the patient, who was being treated in an isolation unit at the hospital, also experienced yellowing of the eyes and urine that was a dark teak color. The clinic staff collected a sample from him that was sent to the Uganda Virus Research Institute’s VHF laboratory on September 18th, 2022. The results were only made public on September 19th, 2022, as the patient had already been declared dead.

The government reassures citizens about what has occurred and declares its confidence in its ability to stop the virus’s spread.

Tourists and visitors to Uganda are urged to keep traveling to the country while strictly adhering to health precautions and standards.
