Hotel Africana Health Club Members Donate to the Bakateyamba

Kampala, Uganda: 27th September 2016 – Hotel Africana Health Club  donated various items to the Mapeera Bakateyamba home for vulnerable people in Kampala.

The donation included pampers, Gloves, Maize flour, Rice, Beans, Disinfectants, Underwear, Toothpaste, Tooth brushes, Varseline and clothes. Handing over the items, Hajji Isaac Ngobya Director BMK Group said that as responsible citizens, the Health Club Members have a mandate to contribute to the well-being of the community.

“At Hotel Africana Health Club, we are more than just a health club, we are a team that works together to see that every one of us is happy and we have decided to extend this to the rest of the world starting with the Bakateyamba and we will continue giving back to the less privileged and contribute to the well-being of such communities in Uganda.” Hajji Ngobya said.

“I encourage people to visit such homes more often as it gives a different perspective of life” Hajji Ngobya added.

Sister Lawrence Nakiwu, the administrator of the home, commended the Health Club for the gesture saying that the Health Club Members have given them exactly what they needed at the moment.

“We are very appreciate of all the items that have been donated to us today as they will go a long way in improving the lives the people leaving in this home,” Sister Lawrence told the Health Club delegation, led by Patrick Mukasa, who was celebrating 50 years at the same time.

Founded by the late Emmanuel Cardinal Nsubuga in 1978, the Mapeera Bakateyamba home is run by the Good Samaritan Sisters under the patronage of Kampala Catholic archdiocese. Located at Nalukolongo, along the Kampala-Masaka road the home accommodates more than 100 aged, lame, destitute and disabled people.
